Alan Weismantel - Manual Therapy of the Upper Quarter

Alan Weismantel provides learners with the skills to better evaluate and treat upper quarter conditions. This course will provide significant knowledge and skills allowing learners to improve their ability to deal with those "tough to treat" conditions. The techniques learned will enable the attendee to make better evaluative and treatment decisions thereby providing speedier resolutions of problems and improved outcomes. Specifically, the attendee will learn the direct and indirect influence of spinal rib and AC/SC dysfunction in relationship to peripheral pain through nerve irritation and mechanical dysfunction. A simple but thorough screening procedure will be provided that directs the clinician towards evaluation of central dysfunction when patient presents with peripheral symptoms. A variety of treatment techniques will be presented and utilized by the attendees to restore normal movements from the spine to the wrist. This course is the next step in sophistication for the clinician who has taken the usual specialized manual therapy, release, counter strain, visceral, PNF, soft tissue courses, etc. Alan brings together many elements not usually used in such synergy--and he does it in a systematic manner in determining a course of treatment based on a logical evaluation "scan".

Based on this systematic evaluation, you will learn about the active treatment to perform as the patient provides functional control. These treatments can simultaneously treat the joint, muscle, fascia and viscera with quite remarkable results. For those just starting to explore other techniques, Alan can help you save time, effort and expense with this one course. For those who have attended other soft tissue courses this course will help to accelerate techniques that have been previously learned.

By the end of the course you will learn a systematic approach to evaluation of the low back, hip and leg. You'll learn how to release restrictions in the spine, SI, viscera, fascia and muscles of the lower quadrant.
